Texas Law Enforcement Needs Our Help Finding This Repeat Sex Offender

Texas law enforcement is turning up the heat in the search for Carlos Jose Ayala Morales, a convicted sex offender who has been dodging justice for over two decades. Morales is now on "Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders," and Texas DPS has named Carlos Jose Ayala Morales the "Top Most Wanted Fugitive" now.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Texas Rangers, sheriff’s offices, and local police departments are working together to track him down before more innocent lives are harmed. The Governors Texas Crime Stoppers are offering a $6,000 reward for any tip that leads to his arrest.

A History of Crime and Evasion

Sgt. Marc Couch, Public Information Officer for the Texas DPS, confirms that Morales has been in and out of confinement since 2000, yet remains a serious public safety threat. His criminal record includes:

• 2000 - Convicted of burglary and sentenced to six months in confinement.
• 2018 - Convicted of evading arrest and multiple counts of indecency with a child involving three young victims. He was sentenced to seven years per offense but served them concurrently.
• 2024 - Released from a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) facility and has been on the run ever since.
• Authorities fear he may re-offend if not captured soon.

Who Is Carlos Jose Ayala Morales?

He's 43 years old, 5-foot 10-inches tall, and weighs about 250 lbs. He has tattoos on his stomach, his back, his right hand, and both of his arms. The last place he was known to be was Houston. As the saying goes "If you know something, say something" because the Governor’s Public Safety Office and Texas Crime Stoppers are offering a $6,000 cash reward for information leading to Morales’ arrest.

The Texas Crime Stoppers Is Offering $20,000 in Reward for Tips

2. Submit a tip online via the website under Morales’ fugitive profile
3. Submit a tip through Facebook by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link.
   All tips MUST remain 100% anonymous, and tipsters will receive a case number instead of using your name.

Texas Authorities Urge the Public to Act

As of 2025, 13 fugitives from Texas’ Most Wanted Lists have already been captured, including several sex offenders and criminal fugitives, thanks to your anonymous tips. Law enforcement officials stress that Morales is dangerous, and the longer he remains free, the greater the risk to our communities across Texas.
