The Texas black widow spider is one dangerous spider that deserves some respect due to its potent venom and a potentially dangerous bite. Known for its glossy black body, the female is easy to spot by its distinctive red hourglass shape on its abdomen. The male black widow is typically harmless, it's the female that poses a threat. The brown widow spider is a close relative of the notorious black widow. The brown widow spider is a pesky little dude. With its hourglass marking on the underside of its abdomen, this spider loves to hide in dark and undisturbed areas, such as sheds and garages. Its bite can cause symptoms such as localized pain and muscle cramps.
