The video at the bottom of this article shows a sedan moving at what appears to be highway speeds despite the glaring visibility issue. The hood, flung upright, possibly due to a faulty latch or improper closure, completely blocks the driver’s forward view. Still, the vehicle remains on the road, weaving slightly but continuing forward as if nothing were amiss.

Texas Motorist Drives Blind With Hood Up

The car actually appears to be doing a fairly good job of staying between the lines. Once, after an oil change, the technician did not latch the hood of my car properly when he shut it, causing it to fly open exactly like this car's hood. I had to pull over immediately because there is no way to drive like that, so I am not sure how the individual in the car is managing. It is honestly pretty impressive.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has not confirmed whether the driver has been identified or cited, but officials remind the public that driving with an obstructed view is a violation of traffic laws and can lead to serious consequences, including fines or license suspension.
