Texas Cannabis Company Responds to Dan Patrick
Hometown Hero based in Austin, Texas says they make premium cannabis products on their website. During Patrick's press conference he held up a bag of their 'Cereal Bites'. Lukas Gilkey of Hometown Hero says that pretty much everything Patrick said while holding up his company's bag is a lie.
"No one knows what's in any of these bags," said Patrick. "If you look at this one says 300 milligrams, but if you add up what it really says, it could be 1,200 milligrams. This is all phony junk."
Hometown Hero has responded by saying, "It is very clearly stated what this is. He said the ingredients, we don't know what's in it. All of the ingredients, every single ingredient are right there." Hometown Hero claims all their products are third party tested proving that the ingredients stated on the bag are the ingredients in their products. Hometown Hero says if Dan Patrick uses their product as an example. He should have his facts straight.
What Does Governor Abbott Think of Senate Bill 3?
According to the Governor's office, "Governor Abbott will thoughtfully review any legislation sent to his desk." Not really a lot to go on there. Abbott will have ten days after June 2nd to sign Senate Bill 3. If he does, it will officially go into effect this September. The Texas hemp industry is an $8 billion industry. More than 8,000 retailers in the state sell THC products, according to estimates.
