The red kettles are returning!

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

It all started in 1891, and it will return this year to central Texas. The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign will once again help those in need in Bell County. According to The Salvation Army of Bell County, the red kettle campaign is "More than just a holiday tradition, the red kettle is a symbol of hope, compassion and generosity—supporting vital programs that serve thousands of individuals and families in need throughout the year." According to KCEN, the Salvation Army of Bell County raised over $95,000 in last year’s campaign. The goal is $125,000 in 2025.

Heart to God, Hand to Man

The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 in London by Methodist preacher William Booth and his wife Catherine.  Their main focus is Christianity and spreading the love of Christ through social services. Believing the church should provide social services, the Salvation Army is the largest non-government provider of social services in the United States, assisting more than 32 million people in the U.S. alone. The Salvation Army’s services are many. They fund homeless shelters, food services, rehabilitation centers, and disaster relief.
