
Texas Traffic Stop Now Believed To Be Human Trafficking Ring
San Antonio, Texas area authorities making a traffic stop of a truck reported stolen, believe they stumbled upon what looks like an elaborate human trafficking network where at least three men from Venezuela, Mexico, and El Salvador are involved.

According to this KENS 5 article, three men were pulled over in a truck that had been reported stolen, and during the course of the investigation it was determined that 27-year-old Hector Alonzo Rodriguez Viera, 36-year-old Juan Carlos Segura Piñon, and 47-year-old Wilfredo Cruz Flores had in their possession $20,000 in cash. They have been charged with multiple crimes including organized criminal activity and money laundering.

As you can see from the above video, Bexar County authorities, just like many agencies in South Texas, have been busy investigating, infiltrating, and imploding human smuggling operations. Combating criminal activity, particularly offenses against vulnerable people and children remains the highest priority for law enforcement in Texas.

When the suspects in this case were apprehended, they were found to also have reflective outerwear similar to construction or road crew attire that agents believe were used in an attempt to blend into their surroundings along the border, and aid in their escape.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Border Patrol Anti-Smuggling Unit, and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations aided local law enforcement in the pursuit and arrest of the suspects.
