Midland families looking to kick off the Christmas season with something festive and kid-friendly will have a new event to check out this year.

On December 6, Dennis the Menace Park will transform into a full Whoville-themed holiday celebration, complete with activities, food, music, and even adoptable pets.

The event is being organized by Whiskers and Tails, a local group known for hosting community pet-friendly gatherings throughout the Permian Basin.

Grinchfest at Dennis the Menace Park

Running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the holiday bash brings elements of Dr. Seuss’ classic world to life, giving children and families a playful opportunity to meet the Grinch, enjoy themed entertainment, and take part in seasonal fun.

One of the main attractions will be photo opportunities with the Grinch himself.

The afternoon will also include face painting, kid-friendly games, a DJ playing holiday music, and a bouncy house.

Food vendors such as Domino’s Pizza and Mad Hatter Soda Shop will be on-site to provide snacks and treats for families spending the day at the park.

In addition to the entertainment, the event includes an opportunity for families to meet adoptable puppies.

With pet adoption increasing nationwide during the holiday season, organizers hope the event’s dog adoption booth will help match animals with local families who are ready to provide a home.

Events like this have become increasingly popular in Midland-Odessa, where community-focused holiday gatherings continue to grow each year.

Grinchfest is something anyone "who" (see what I did there?) is looking for family-friendly activities to do with the kids should attend.
