It was just a few years ago when El Paso introduced the first female football league, The Sun City Stealth. Following that awesome news, last September to be exact, the city announced another exciting new program for young girls, Girl’s Flag Football!

Fast foward to now and Girl’s Flag Football is here in the Sun City!

History was made in El Paso this week as High School Girls Flag Football officially launched in the Sun City. Backed by the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans, and NFL legend Bobby Taylor, this pilot program is changing the game and reminding young girls “Mija, Yes You Can” do whatever you set your mind to!

Dozens of El Paso high school girls gathered at the SISD Sac 2 in east El Paso for the official uniform reveal ceremony that brought out the star power. Bobby Taylor himself showed up, alongside U.S. Women’s Flag Football Team members Ariel Blair and Laneah Bryan — who, by the way, are proud El Pasoans repping hard on the national stage.

The pilot program is aiming for big goals: to get Girls Flag Football officially sanctioned across the state of Texas.
