The Texas Tech Red Raiders just had a heartbreak game that started at 2:30 p.m. against the Texas Longhorns. This weekend, they'll play Kansas State at 2:30 p.m. in Manhattan, Kansas.

The following weekend, October 10th, the Red Raiders will play a third straight 2:30 p.m. contest against the Iowa State Cyclones on ABC.

It seems like Texas Tech has had 1,000 or so 11 a.m. kickoffs in the last several years, so it's a nice break to not have those early-morning tailgates. This will be Texas Tech's first season starting with three conference games later than 11 a.m. since 2015.

In 2015, Texas Tech lost a wild afternoon game to TCU before beating Baylor and Iowa State in 2:30 p.m. kickoffs.

After this weekend's ending against the Texas Longhorns, maybe the Red Raiders are due to win two straight Big 12 Games in 2020.

They'll have their first chance this weekend against the Wildcats, who just completed an upset against the Oklahoma Sooners in a game they were predicted to lose by four touchdowns. The Red Raiders are obviously coming off a game where they were predicted to lose by 18 and eventually lost in overtime by a touchdown. The Red Raiders' game against the Wildcats will be on FS1.

Elsewhere in the Big 12 conference this week, Oklahoma will try to bounce back from a loss against the Iowa State Cyclones. The Horned Frogs will travel to Austin to play the Longhorns, a place Gary Patterson loves to play. Baylor and West Virginia will play in a sneaky good matchup for the middle-of-the-pack teams. Oklahoma State will try not to lose in Lawrence, Kansas.

There won't be any night games for the Big 12 this weekend.
