GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — A Southeast Texas man has been sentenced to 75 years in prison after being convicted of shooting a man to death outside a bar two years ago.
Forty-four-year-old Paul Anthony Crayton of Texas City was sentenced Thursday after being convicted of murder and aggravated assault.

Crayton was convicted in the slaying of 38-year-old James M. Martin Jr., who was shot at least 12 times. Crayton was also convicted for shooting at 48-year-old Derek Yell, who'd barricaded himself inside the bar's bathroom. Yell escaped injury.

The Galveston County Daily News ( http://bit.ly/1ePqA5u ) reports Crayton testified he shot Martin in self-defense, although there was no evidence Martin was armed.

Crayton testified in his trial that he was in a "triangle dispute" with Martin and Yell.
