Authorites Searching For Armed Man In Fatal Shooting

MOUNT VERNON, Texas (AP) — A murder warrant has been issued for an armed man following the fatal shooting of a woman at an East Texas recreational vehicle park. 

Franklin County sheriff's deputies are seeking 55-year-old Keith Lynn McDowell over the gunfire early Tuesday near Mount Vernon.

Investigators say a 32-year-old woman was fatally shot at the Still Meadows RV Park, about 90 miles northeast of Dallas. Her name wasn't immediately released.

The sheriff's department says McDowell could be driving a blue 1990 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with Texas license plate CJS-0574. McDowell fled the RV park before deputies arrived.

The manager, Amanda Wheeler, says the victim does not live at the park but was visiting a resident. Wheeler says McDowell also does not live at the location but wanted to see the woman.
