2021 CRAZY DESERT TRAIL RACE SAT, MARCH 6TH

LIVING HISTORY AT FT CONCHO SAT, MARCH, 6TH
Everyone is invited to experience the life of Army officers and their families on a frontier post on Sat, March 6th in Fort Concho’s Officers’ Quarters #6 from 10 am – 3 pm. The quarters will come to life with the sight, sounds, and smells of the frontier as their living historians bake 19th century recipes, play music, and gather to tell stories of what life was like for these men and women. The event is free & capacity will be limited to 100 guests. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be in effect. For more information, call 481-2646.

BREWS EWES & BBQ COOK-OFF SAT, MARCH 6TH
The 2021 Brews Ewes & BBQ Cook-Off is being held on Sat, March 6th starting at 11 am at 330 S Irving in Downtown San Angelo. The annual competition and festival is hosted by Downtown San Angelo Inc & sanctioned by the International Bar-B-Que Cookers Association with teams from across the region competing for best brisket, chicken, pork ribs, and beans. ABILENE ZOO – WILD DAYS MARCH 6TH – 14TH
The Abilene Zoo has announced it will be hosting interactive shows and special experiences during their “Wild Days” event March 6th – 14th. Wild Days will be held alongside Nelson Lake and visitors will have the opportunity to meet a variety of creatures, such as:
Yogi the Two-toed Sloth
Bruce the Warthog
Scarlett the African Crested Porcupine
Bayou the American Alligator
Macho the Rhino
Edward the Giraffe and others.

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES SUN, MARCH 14TH
Due to the inclement weather we have experienced in the Concho Valley, the Girl Scouts have extending their cookie sales until Sun, March 14th. Drive in booths continue on the Knickerbocker side of San Angelo Stadium during weekends as well as booths at Lowe’s Home Improvement. VIRTUAL RPG CLUB THURSDAYS, NOW – MARCH 18TH
The Virtual RPG Club of San Angelo is seeking brave souls to embark on a mission unlike any other as you enter the lands of Dungeons & Dragons Thursdays 4-6 pm through Mar 18th. Be a character, solve puzzles, fight monsters, and make friends! They provide all the digital tools you’ll need! This event is free, for Teen Room patrons (grades 6-12) and you must register using your library card.

OUTLAWS & LEGENDS MUSIC FEST MARCH 19TH & 20TH
The Outlaws & Legends Music Fest celebrates its 10th anniversary March 19th and 20th at The Back Porch of Texas in Abilene.
This year's festival will feature a huge name in movies and Television as Kevin Costner brings his band Modern West whose music is featured in the smash-hit television series Yellowstone starring Costner!
Kevin Costner will be headlining Friday the 19th, while Randy Houser will headline Saturday's event.
The two-day festival is filled with great performers including Kevin Fowler, Cody Canada and the Departed, Mike and the Moonpies, Lee Roy Parnell, Jaime Richards, Curtis Grimes, Kody West and more great performers. FIND THE GUN FOR YOU SAT, MARCH 20TH
The San Angelo Gun Club is offering the “Find The Gun For You” class on Sat, March 20th from 12n – 3 pm which is designed to help you narrow down current and popular handguns to find the one that suits you best! BUFFALO GAP FLEA MARKET SAT & SUN, MAR 20TH &21ST
Everyone is invited to the monthly Buffalo Gap Flea Market Sat & Sun, March 20th &21st. The Flea Market is held every third Saturday in the Buffalo Gap Historic District.
