COPPELL, Texas (AP) — Retail gasoline prices in Texas and across the U.S. continue to fall as summer ends.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the statewide average declined 8 cents this week to settle at $2.07 per gallon.

The association survey found retail gasoline prices nationwide are down 7 cents, to reach $2.30 per gallon.

El Paso has the most expensive gasoline this week in Texas, at an average $2.30 per gallon. Drivers in Amarillo, Fort Worth and Texarkana have the cheapest gasoline statewide at an average $1.98 per gallon.

AAA experts say retail gas prices remain much cheaper than last year due to the relatively low price of crude oil in a trend expected to continue into autumn.
