Texas Sets a New Workforce Record As Job Growth Continues
Okay, I'll admit it, I am someone who believes in hard work, and I don't mind starting the workday early and working into the late-night hours. I smile every time I come across reports like this. I like to say that Texas isn't just working, I like to believe Texas is winning.

New employment data shows the Lone Star State now has the biggest workforce in its history, along with the largest annual job growth in the entire country. And it raises a question I’ve asked many times on the air, "Are people moving to Texas because the jobs are here, or are the jobs coming because people keep moving to Texas? Honestly, I think it’s both.
Texas Now Has the Largest Workforce Ever
According to new labor market data, Texas has officially reached record-breaking levels when it comes to people working and jobs being created.
Right now, 15.87 million Texans are part of the labor force, the highest number the state has ever seen. Even more impressive, more than 15.22 million Texans are working, including those who are self-employed.
On top of that, Texas has reached a new high in non-farm jobs, with over 14.34 million total jobs statewide. That number continues to grow month after month.
Texas Leads the Nation in Job Growth
Over the past year alone, Texas added 168,000 new jobs, more than any other state in America. That growth also outpaced the national job growth rate.
At the same time, the Texas unemployment rate remains steady at 4.1 percent, which is still lower than the national average. In plain terms, more Texans are working, and businesses continue to hire.
From small startups to Fortune 500 companies, employers are choosing Texas with confidence.
Training Texans for the Jobs of Tomorrow
Job growth doesn’t happen by accident. Texas continues to invest in workforce development, including career and technical education programs.
Recent funding announcements include millions of dollars for job training grants, helping schools and colleges prepare students for high-demand, good-paying careers. Additional funding is also helping high school students earn dual credit so they can step directly into the workforce or higher education after graduation.
Why Texas Keeps Winning
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Texas isn’t afraid to work.
People move here for opportunity, safety, family life, and a culture that still values showing up and putting in the effort. And when they arrive, businesses respond by creating even more jobs.
Want a great job?
Want a strong family life?
Want to feel safe and welcome?
That’s why people keep choosing Texas, and why Texas keeps setting records. Okay, enough of that, let's all get back to work.
