Well so much for the haters over at ESPN as the Dallas Cowboys absolutely dominated the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

Just a week ago, ESPN published their simulation results of the 2023 NFL season. The results spelled disaster for the Dallas Cowboys, suggesting the boys would get crushed by the Giants on opening night, and go on to start the season 1-5.

So much for predictions.

The Dallas Cowboys not only beat the New York football Giants on their home turf to kick off the season, but they completely dismantled a team that one year ago made the playoffs with a 9-win season.

It wasn't even close. What started off as a reasonably promising game quickly turned into a disaster. After an impressive opening drive, the Giants set up for a routine field goal only to have it blocked by the Cowboys and run back for a touchdown.

The Giants never threatened again as the Cowboy's defense completely took control of the game, recording 7 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, a pick-6, and 1 blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. Heck, there were a few sacks that didn't even count because of a penalty. In other words, total domination.

Offensively, the new-look "Texas Coast Offense" was not overly impressive. In fact, with Coach Mike McCarthy calling the plays, the Cowboys only mustered 265 total yards. It wasn't the worst performance, but they really didn't need to perform with the way the defense played.

It wasn't the game I expected, but definitely have a huge smile on my face after we put a 40 burger on an NFC East rival. I'm not going to say we're going to the promised land for sure this year, but it's a heck of a start.

Besides, how's that crow tasting this morning, ESPN?
