It’s Guy Love: Rock Band Creed Officially Cheering On Texas Rangers
It was recently disclosed in an interview that one of the motivational factors to inspire the Texas Rangers has been the team jamming out to the rock band Creed. Now the band is officially cheering on the Rangers as the team faces Houston in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) this Sunday.
A few days ago, starting pitcher Andrew Heaney was doing an interview with radio broadcaster Jared Sandler about the slump the Rangers were experiencing in the second half of the season. Heaney mentioned that the team "started having fun and playing Creed before games".
“It’s kind of just a random thing that everybody started singing to one day, and it’s kind of built on itself,” Heaney shared with Sandler. (<a href="https://www.mlb.com/news/texas-rangers-listen-to-creed-to-spark-playoff-run" target="_blank">via MLB</a>)
In the Rangers' game three of the American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles, the crowd at Globe Life Field came together to sing Creed's radio hit "Higher". The Rangers went on to wrap up the series and move on to the ALCS against the Houston Astros.
So will Creed take the Texas Rangers...ahem, higher, or will the Astros keep the Rangers in their own prison? Sorry, I'll see myself out.
This reminds me of that scene in Scrubs where they sing the "Guy Love" song.
Good luck to the Texas Rangers against the Houston Astros in the ALCS. Game 1 is Sunday night. Go Rangers!
