On October 23rd, 2023, the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) to advance to the World Series for the first time since 2011. But it's another date I really want Texas Rangers fans to remember -  October 21st, 2022.

Why is that day significant? Well, my friends, that is the day the Texas Rangers hired Bruce Bochy. That's right, it only took one year for the three-time World Series Champion to take the Rangers to the promised land.

The reason I remember that particular date so vividly is because I wrote an article that very day talking about Bochy being hired and how fans should "remember this day".

The Texas Rangers have announced that they have hired three-time World Series champion manager Bruce Bochy as their new skipper. As a Texas Rangers fan, I believe that today is a day we should remember.(<a href="https://keyj.com/texas-rangers-hire-bruce-bochy-as-new-skipper-rangers-fans-should-remember-this-day/" target="_blank">Original article on Bochy</a>)

Crazy, right? Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket?

Now I'm not trying to say I can foresee the future or anything. My point is that, although it is amazing it only took one year for Bochy to take the Rangers to the World Series, nobody should be surprised. He's that good.

Bochy is a three-time champ who hung it all up in 2019, only to come out of retirement to help a franchise with six straight losing seasons turn it around in just one year.

So while October 23rd, 2023, is the day the Rangers punched their ticket into the World Series, remember too October 21st, 2022, the day Bochy arrived in Arlington.

The Texas Rangers will face the winner of the NLCS with game one of the World Series set for Friday, October 27th. Go Rangers!
