Free Family Movie Nights Return to Tyler

With warmer spring and summer nights on the way, Tyler Parks and Recreation is once again hosting a free movie event for the family. Even if the evening air is a bit cooler than you prefer for the early dates, you can still bring a blanket and cover up with it as the movie projector casts a smash hit on the big screen.

Gather up the family, some lawn chairs, movie snacks, and blankets, and get ready to claim your spot inside Bergfeld Park to see one of the movies for free.

Summer 2026 Movies In The Park Line-Up

• Saturday, May 16 - Zootopia 2
• Saturday, June 6 - Lilo & Stitch
• Saturday, July 11 - How To Train Your Dragon
• Saturday, August 1 - A Minecraft Movie

Where the Movies Will Be Shown

All movies will begin at 8:30 p.m. and will be shown at the amphitheater at Bergfeld Park in Tyler, except the June 6 showing of Lilo & Stitch. This showing will take place at Fun Forest Pool on Glenwood Blvd. in Tyler. So, you can have a day of fun at the pool followed by a movie.

What to Know Before You Go

Here's your opportunity to watch a family-friendly movie with the kids underneath the trees and stars. Of course, all show times are weather-dependent. If inclement weather is forecast, Tyler Parks and Recreation may reschedule to an alternate showing.

'Zootopia 2' - rated PG
Starring the voices of Shakira, Partick Warburton, Dwayne Johnson, Macaulay Culkin, Andy Samburg. The film follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they pursue a pit viper named Gary De'Snake across Zootopia and try to clear their names after being framed.

'Lilo & Stitch' - rated PG
Starring the voices of Sydney Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Zach Galifinakis, and Chris Sanders. Stitch, an extraterrestrial entity, comes to Earth after escaping prison, where he tries to impersonate a dog. Things take a turn when a lonely Hawaiian girl, Lilo, adopts him from an animal shelter, and he helps mend her broken family.

'How To Train Your Dragon' - rated PG
Starring Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gerard Butler, Julian Dennison, and Nick Frost. As an ancient threat endangers both Vikings and dragons alike on the isle of Berk, the friendship between Hiccup, an inventive Viking, and Toothless, a Night Fury dragon, becomes the key to both species forging a new future together.

'A Minecraft Movie' - rated PG
Starring Jason Mamoa, Emma Myers, Jack Black, Jennifer Coolidge, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen. Four misfits are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into a bizarre cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world while embarking on a quest with an unexpected expert crafter.
