ODESSA, Texas (AP) — The mother of a man charged with capital murder for a 5-year-old boy's abuse death also has been indicted on capital murder charges.
Evangelina Zepeda Quezada was arrested Tuesday by federal marshals while she was visiting her son at the Ector County Detention Center. The 48-year-old Odessa woman is held on $500,000 bond.

District Attorney Bobby Bland says he'll seek the death penalty for Quezada's son, Ralph Martinez Jr., for the death of Zachary Dominguez. Martinez is set for trial in October.

The Odessa American (http://bit.ly/19PQeHB ) reports court documents show Quezada was involved in abuse that led to the boy's death in February 2011.

Bland said Wednesday the death penalty would be waived in her case.

Also jailed and awaiting trial is the child's mother, who was dating Martinez.
