SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A San Antonio police officer's radio on her gun belt has stopped a bullet fired during an alleged road-rage incident as she drove to work.

The officer wasn't hurt. A suspect has been arrested.

Bexar (bayr) County jail records show 33-year-old Jose Antonio Rivera was being held Thursday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Online jail records don't list an attorney to speak for Rivera, whose bond was set at $75,000.

San Antonio police say Officer Crystal Torres was in uniform and headed to work Tuesday night, in her personal vehicle, when she allegedly was cut off by another driver. Investigators say that driver opened fire, with several bullets striking the officer's truck.

Torres followed the suspect and relayed vehicle information to dispatchers. Other officers arrested Rivera.
