DALLAS (AP) — Dallas police have warned the public about an online international financial scam that falsely mentions Chief David Brown and seeks payment of a fee.
The Dallas Morning News (http://bit.ly/1b2LgWR ) reports email swindlers from Ghana are sending emails while posing as Brown.

Sgt. Richard Santiesteban said Tuesday that police are investigating and trying to spread the word about the scheme.

The email contains several spelling and grammatical errors. It features an image of Brown apparently copied and pasted from the Dallas Police Department's website and is signed "David O. Brown, Chief of Police."

The email mentions some consignment boxes and requests payment.
