Parkinson’s Update at Shannon

Medtronic and the American Parkinson’s Disease Association present a “Parkinson’s Disease Update,” this Sat., Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Shannon Women’s & Children’s Conference Room, 201 E. Harris.
Luis Duarte, M.D., Shannon Clinic neurosurgeon, will discuss Medtronic Deep Brain Stimulation. Deep brain stimulation therapy can be used to treat Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia. Katie Hendley, M.D., a neurologist with Covenant Medical Group in Lubbock, will give an update on the latest developments in the treatment of Parkison’s disease.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. with the presentation following at 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
