San Angelo Police Make Drug Arrest

While conducting routine patrol in the area of the 800blk. of N. Bell St. Officer Acosta initiated a traffic stop of a gold 2009 Chrysler 300 bearing Texas License Plate#D29B541. The stop was for Expired Motor Vehicle Registration.
While PO Acosta was identifying the driver of the vehicle he noticed the passenger, Roxann Lopez, making furtive movements in the glove compartment. PO Acosta asked for and received Consent to search of the vehicle. The search resulted in PO Acosta locating jewelry sized plastic baggies containing an off white powdery substance. A field test of the substance located resulted in a positive reaction for containing Methamphetamine.

An investigation revealed that Ms. Lopez was in possession of this controlled substance. Ms. Lopez was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1<1gram. The driver of the vehicle was released
