Shooter Claims Self-Defense

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred south of Amarillo.   

Randall County Spokesman Danny Alexander tells the Amarillo Globe-News (http://bit.ly/1yqubne ) that police received a report of a shooting on Sunday night. When officers arrived, they found a dead 39-year-old man at the scene.

Alexander says the shooter has claimed self-defense in the shooting. Authorities are not releasing the name of the victim or the shooter at this time.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident and say they will release more details as they become available.
