On Tuesday, a Slaton man was indicted by a grand jury for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old family member.

KAMC News reports that back in January, Texas Rangers received a request from the Slaton Police Department to investigate information in reference to Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child.

Sixty-eight-year-old Manuel Alcorta was accused of multiple sexual abuse allegations that happened in San Antonio and Slaton between 2014 and 2018.

The father says that he heard Alcorta may have molested another family member in the past, but had no evidence to support it.

Alcorta was arrested back on July 3rd and remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
