BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — A judge in Southeast Texas has refused to return a 12-foot Burmese python, a boa constrictor and other reptiles removed from a house after complaints from neighbors.
The judge in Beaumont decided Bruce Rawson could not get the exotic animals back unless he finds other housing with better living conditions.

Beaumont Animal Services personnel on Monday seized a dozen snakes, rats and rabbits from a rental house after neighbors complained of roaming reptiles. Snakes had been spotted loose in the yard. Some were run over in the street.

Rawson on Wednesday was also ordered to pay nearly $600 to Beaumont Animal Services for care of the creatures.

Rawson says he's been out of town working for the past few months and relatives were supposed to watch the animals for him
