The Red Raiders softball team had a decent weekend. They went 4-2 in six games against Tarleton State and UTEP. Oh yeah, they also had a game on Sunday where they hit three grand slams and threw a no-hitter.

Two of the three grand slams were hit by Karli Hamilton and the third was hit by Peyton Blythe. All three were hit in the first three innings and the Red Raiders scored 23 runs all by the end of the 5th inning when the game was called for a run rule.

The 23 runs were awesome and the only thing better than the Red Raiders offense was the Red Raiders pitching headlined by Missy Zoch who went out and tossed a no-hitter for good measure.

For Karli Hamilton and Missy Zoch's efforts, they were named the Big 12 Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively, as announced by the Big 12 conference.

Hamilton finished with 9 RBIs in the contest locking in the Red Raiders record for most RBIs in a game. On the weekend, Hamilton was 6-for-18 with three home runs, 13 RBIs, eight runs scored, four walks, and two stolen bases.

Zoch's no-hitter was her first as a Red Raider and second in her collegiate career of the DePaul transfer. Her eight strikeouts tied a season-high. Also last weekend, Zoch tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout over UTEP, striking out six and walking one in the five-inning contest. In all last weekend, she allowed just two earned runs in 13.1 innings and struck out 17.
