It's been proven time and again that Texas is incredible. All up and down the ballot it's the best state in the union. Don't give me stats or figures, I can see it with my eyeballs that Texas is superior.

That's especially true in the State of Texas. The state produces star athletes like they are Model T's and it's 1922 in Detroit again. The state also has the best athletic venues in sports today. They've hosted Super Bowls, National Championship's and Playoff games not to mention the first-ever neutral-site World Series was hosted in Arlington, Texas at Globe Life Field.

For some reason, the NCAA chose Indianapolis, Indiana to host the NCAA tournament. Probably some under-the-table dealing's going on there because everyone knows the best place to hold a massive event is in Texas. At least the NIT knows it. Just like in college basketball, if you can't get to March Madness, you get to the NIT.

And, because they know Texas is the best, for the first time since its inception in 1938 the NIT will be hosted in Frisco and Denton, Texas. The 2021 NIT will feature 16 teams and will begin on March 17th and run through the 28th with a Championship game and a third-place game played on that day.

All 16 NIT games will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2. The selection show for the tournament will be on ESPNU on March 14th at 7:30 pm Texas time. They'll choose 16 at-large participants to play in the tournament with no automatic bids handed out.

Games will be played at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas and at UNT Coliseum on the campus of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
