AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Central Texas jogger was injured after a dead tree fell on him as he was running along a popular trail in Austin.
The Austin American-Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/157Wu5C ) the unidentified man was jogging Saturday afternoon on the Butler Hike and Bike Trail when the tree injured him.

Police say the man suffered a fracture to his leg. He was treated at an Austin hospital.

Police say witnesses reported hearing a loud crack before the tree injured the man. The tree was described as being about 20 feet long and 20 inches in diameter.

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department is investigating how the dead tree injured the jogger.
