GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — Airports in the Dallas area say travelers should check their flight status before coming to the airport.

Early Monday, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was reporting that more than 35 departures were cancelled because of weather. De-icing was under way at both there and at Dallas Love Field. A Dallas Love Field spokesman says there were three cancellations there so far early Monday.

DFW Airport said early Monday that with a light snow falling, pavements there were wet but not icy.

National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Stalley says a rain and snow mix falling in the area was expected to taper off by early Monday morning, with a cloudy forecast expected for the rest of the day.
