Tuesday morning was a smoky, hazy morning across Lubbock, the South Plains and Texas Panhandle.

Just after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the Texas A&M Forest Service provided an update on the Perryton Fire in Lipscomb and Ochiltree counties. The fire is now 100,000 acres in size and only 5 percent of it is contained. Meanwhile, the Dumas Complex Fire in Potter County is holding at 25,000 acres with 75 percent containment.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott last night activated state resources to battle the Panhandle wildfires, including the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid Strike Team. ABC 7 in Amarillo reports three firefighters in Carson County were injured battling a wildfire yesterday afternoon.
