CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — One of three people tossed into the water when their small boat flipped near a fishing pier off Corpus Christi's south side remains missing.

Authorities say the boat began taking on water and capsized Saturday evening in choppy conditions in the Laguna Madre.

Rescue crews managed to get to a man and woman — identified as a brother and sister — and save them. A man who jumped from the fishing pier to help after seeing the boat flip also was retrieved but the third person who was on board the boat couldn't be found.

He's described only as a 32-year-old who was wearing waders. Police say he was last seen trying to swim to shore.
