The Sun Bowl renovations were first put on display for the home opener between UTEP and Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, Sept. 5.

UTEP plans to play a full 12-game season this year with six home games at 18 percent capacity for fans.

Although the renovations aren't complete, the first look at the new additions to the Sun Bowl gave a modern feel to the stadium. Football photos are displayed throughout the concourse. Luxury seating is complete and towers atop the west side of the Sun Bowl. Premium luxury seats even have televisions with a full-service bar atop the west side of the stadium.

Of course, the COVID-19 regulations were shown across the Sun Bowl as well. There were spots across the floor of each concession stand to ensure social distancing. Bathrooms have wait areas, sanitation spots and a security member counting the attendees.
