A Warning Letter For Texas School Superintendents
This past Friday, September 12th, Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath sent a letter to the state’s school superintendents warning that Texas teachers who have posted or shared reprehensible and inappropriate content on social media related to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, will be referred to TEA's Educator Investigation Division.
A Portion of the American Population Celebrates Murder
Immediately following the murder of Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk, the internet erupted with millions grieving the loss of the conservative speaker. At the same time, others were celebrating the assassination. Many of the posts approving of Kirk’s murder were written by those in the public sector. Teachers, university professors, policemen, judges, military members, doctors and nurses created gleeful posts that an American citizen was assassinated for his religious and political beliefs.
The List of Teacher Terminations Grows Following the Assassination of Charlie Kirk
Teachers nationwide have been fired after posting morbid comments celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder. The list of those terminated grows with each passing day. According to NBC, at least a dozen faculty and staff have been fired due to insensitive posts about Kirk’s death. Like Texas, Oklahoma and Florida are also warning educators that they will be dismissed for social media posts.
