According to The American Automobile Association, (AAA), Thanksgiving week should be a boom for American businesses, that they haven't experienced since 2007.AAA's research conducted in mid-October, showed that nation-wide, some 43.5 million of us planned a lengthy car trip between Wednesday, the 23rd and Sunday, the 27th. Look for another million, or so of us, to travel at least 50 miles from our homes. That's an increase of 1.9% from last year, making this year a possible nine year high.

Yes, it's bad news for all of us driving, however, it's great new for American businesses.

Keep in mind, you'll be spending money in advance of traveling to get your vehicle ready for the trip. Then, there's the purchase of all the food for the big meal itself. Plus, don't forget all those Black Friday sales and  the official start of the holiday shopping season.

So, if you do plan to be on the road during this holiday period, happy motoring and please drive safe. The U.S. economy is counting on you!
