Coming back to San Angelo from the Central Texas area, I'm already missing some of the restaurant options I had back east. Driving around San Angelo, I've noticed we have a good selection of local and franchised establishments, but there are a few I think we can add to the area.

Here's a list of restaurants I think would be nice to have here in San Angelo.

P Terry's Burger Stand

This is an expanding burger place based in Austin that I would love to see expand out west. They started as a single stand in the early 2000s and have grown because of their great burgers and shakes. Hey, P Terry's -- follow me out here.

Torchy's Tacos

Here's another Austin-based restaurant. They have good tacos, but also cool names like the Trailer Park, the Tipsy Chick, The Republican, The Democrat and The Independent. Let's have good tacos and have fun ordering them, too.

In-N-Out Burger

Now there's a rivalry between fans of this California-based franchise and the originally Texas-based Whataburger. Hey, I like them both. In fact, I wish Whataburger would steal In-N-Out's 'Animal Style' idea for their burgers where they cook mustard into the burger and add grilled onions. Order it the next time you're somewhere where there's an In-N-Out.

Jersey Mike's Subs

We have Firehouse, Jimmy Johns, Wich Wich and a bunch of Subways here in San Angelo. This should be the next progression in the sub chain for the Concho Valley.

Arby's

We used to "Have the Meats" here in San Angelo until they moved out a few years ago. I see their commercials all the time on TV and it's frustrating that we don't have one within 100 miles of San Angelo.

Fazoli's

This is good, cheap Italian fast food. They have some good lunch specials on Tuesday and Thursday that I'm missing out on right now. Plus, you can eat all the breadsticks you want.
