After being ranked 14th last week in the AP Poll the USA Today Coaches poll has the Red Raiders at number 13 in the nation. The Coaches poll also adds the same Big 12 teams into the top 25 as well with Kansas, West Virginia and Texas on the rankings. Oklahoma State just outside the range as well with nine top 25 votes of their own.

The Red Raiders also have a non-conference opponent on the list, with Houston getting their name called as the 18th best team to start the season.

It's not just the AP poll and the Coaches Poll that are high on the top half of the Big 12. The Ken Pomeroy rankings also have the same five teams high in their rankings, with all five actually inside the top 10 nationally. Kenpom.com has the teams in the same order, with Baylor at no. 1, Kansas at no. 5, Texas Tech at no. 6, West Virginia at no. 8 and Texas at no. 9.

The next closest team is Oklahoma sitting at no. 31. On the other end of the KenPom metric is Kansas State, which is the worst-rated Big 12 team at 133rd overall.
