Earlier this month Texas Tech basketball locked in their first recruit for 2022 with a four-star point guard from Nevada named Richard "Pop Pop" Isaacs who is heralded as a pure point and a great passer who can run an offense. Something that Texas Tech has been lacking for several seasons.

Fast forward to today and Texas Tech has locked in another recruit. This time is Robert Jennings who's a 6'7" (or 6'8" depending on where you look), three-star recruit who is ranked as the number one power forward in the state of Texas.

Jennings as a collegiate prospect is exactly who you would imagine Mark Adams type to be. Uber athletic with the ability to play multiple positions and places on the floor. Jennings is a capable scorer, has a solid vision in the post to find open shooters on the perimeter, and has been praised for his high motor and competitiveness. Jennings plays hard on both sides of the floor and is a relentless rebounder.

Mark Adams and his staff are off to a great start on their 2022 class, but with nearly 10 Juniors and Seniors on the 2020-21 roster there are several more spots to fill. 247sports basketball recruiting contributor Austin Massey hinted after the signing of Jennings, the Red Raiders recruiting efforts weren't finished yet.

Of course, that could mean a number of things so far out from signing day, but I do think that the indication is that another signing could be imminent rather than eventually possible. It could be that Zach Keller commits soon or Chauncey Gibson is the next man in.

College basketball recruiting expert Tobias Bass from zagsblog.com and has his hand on the pulse of everything Texas Tech says to keep an eye out on five-star big man Yohan Traore and three-star shooting guard Lamar Washington. Both of which are playing their prep ball in Arizona.

The 2022 recruiting class is shaping up to be a great one, but there is still an entire upcoming season coming up the current Red Raiders have to get through first.
