The Lady Raiders and Red Raiders both had games against Incarnate Word on Tuesday and it was a complete beatdown. The Lady Raiders beat Incarnate word in the afternoon by a mere 53 points with the 100-47 victory. The Red Raiders followed that with a big win of their own beating the Cardinals 79-51. Then Mark Adams boxed a bear, but more on that later.

The Lady Raiders absolutely dominated from bell to bell with Lexi Gordon leading all scorers with 28. Alexis Tucker and Vivian Gray both notched double-doubles while the Lady Raiders entire roster scored at least one bucket. The Lady Raiders were on fire shooting better than 60% from the field and 45% from three.

The Red Raiders also got in on the beat down with the returning Kevin McCullar providing a valuable spark and leading the team with a team-high 11 points shared with Mac McClung. Kyler Edwards also added 10 points with everyone on the team scoring points except for Clarence Nadolny. The Red Raiders won by nearly thirty points but didn't shoot great from the floor or from the free-throw line.

Now to the Main Event, the Bear boxing.

Several weeks ago, Chris Beard asked for fans to step up and attend the games since the margin is so thin for the United Supermarkets Arena to be "sold out". With only 25% available, Beard urged season ticket holders to use their tickets or to give them to someone who could.

Beard has now taken lessons from one of basketball's greatest showmen Jackie Moon by getting fans into the arena by promising assistant coach Mark Adams will fight a bear after the game. Maybe Coach Beard will cover "Love Me Sexy" next?

Mark Adams did not disappoint by boxing a totally real bear after the game. It's not a surprise that Adams made quick work of the bear given his history as a golden glove boxer.

Chris Beard provided his analysis after the first round knock out.
