When the Texas Tech Red Raiders walked into the Frank Erwin Center last night in Austin, Texas they were expecting a fight. When they went down in the first half they didn't duck away, they countered with a huge second half culminating in a Mac McClung shot at the end of the game that cemented McClung into Red Raider history next to Michael Crabtree and Keenan Evans as players who beat the Longhorns at the buzzer.

Twitter reacted accordingly:

Of course, it started with the Red Raider's own account sharing the epic McClung McDagger.

The classic titanic theme that makes everything better also got in the action.

The Red Raiders' head coach himself, Chris Beard, shared a simple image that said a thousand words last night. The street dogs showed up and the tougher team won the game.

The stat guys also loved the quirky stats that came from the thriller. Here's my favorite from Ryan Mainville. The Red Raiders only led the game for 36 seconds!

Obligatory Jon Rothstein tweet.

Mac McClung was so excited he couldn't even wait around to do the interview.

Some people recalled another epic Texas Tech buzzer-beater against the Longhorns from 2018.

Of course, there were memes...

and national coverage.

Former Red Raider basketball players and famous alums also got in on the fun.
