LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A 41-year-old woman has been indicted for the slaying last July of a 71-year-old man at his Lubbock home.

Jennifer Upton, of Lubbock, was charged Tuesday with murder for the fatal beating and torture of Jesus Arce during a robbery.

An arrest warrant reviewed by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal (http://bit.ly/1sLuHeD ) shows Arce had cancer and a heart condition and had allowed Upton to stay with him to care for him.

A neighbor called police after finding Arce tied to his bed and his house ransacked. Arce died two days later.

Police last September arrested a 44-year-old man, Jesse Ramos, who also is charged in the slaying.

Upton is jailed under $500,000 bond.
