Those baggage fees at airports are brutal. It's mainly due to how many of us have become masters of packing, as we try our best to stuff a week's worth of clothes into a backpack. With this government shutdown in effect, a lot of TSA workers who aren't getting paid or just not showing up to work are really stressed out right now and probably aren't paying attention, so expect to see more stories like this one as this shutdown drags on.

According to KXAN, Pflugerville resident Antonio Salis took a flight from Sacramento to Austin on Thursday and was arrested upon arrival at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Mr. Salis' luggage, according to the arrest warrant, had an odor coming from it that alerted the Austin PD K-9 dogs. An officer asked Salis for permission to search the luggage and was denied, but both pieces were seized and police found 43 pounds of marijuana in his bags.

Salis claims he found the bags on the street in Sacramento and checked them into the airport there, where the TSA failed to detect a problem. He was able to fly across the country with the green sticky. Salis now faces a third degree felony for drug possession and could be facing up to 10 years in prison.

At least he saved himself some money on his flight by keeping his weed under the 50 pound weight limit.
